Baby Shower for Second Child
So, you had your first baby and threw a baby shower....and now you're pregnant with your second! Many women in this situation wonder if it's acceptable to have another baby shower. The answer is YES! However, there are a few things to consider...
Depending on how far apart your second baby is from your first determines quite a bit. If you children are far apart in age then there is no issue at all with having a second large baby shower. Chances are you don't have any of the major essentials anymore (stroller, carseat, play pen, crib, etc.) in which case you are in dire need of once again.
If your first child and second will be close in age and you do have your major essentials, then the popular trend today is having a "Sprinkles" party. A "Sprinkles" party is not as large as a shower. You can still create a baby registry for a sprinkles party just as you did for your baby shower, however, with less items. You would just register for necessities such as diapers, bottles, clothing, bibs, etc, since all of your larger and more expensive items are already taken care of.
Another name for a sprinkles party is a "Bare Necessities" Party....which is exactly what you are in need of...the bare necessities! A cute idea is to send out invitations with teddy bears on them inviting guests to your "Bare Necessities" Party.
Congratulations on your pregnancy and best wishes!

I think I enjoyed my second baby shower more than my first. I already had the essentials so I was able to list some really nice items on my baby registry for my second. If you know the sex of the child it makes it even better.
